Background
Namibia has one of the highest youth unemployment rates in Africa, particularly in urban areas affected by poverty, a situation exacerbated by a lack of school qualifications, poor literacy skills and a lack of career prospects.
The SkillUp Namibia project aims to reduce the skills gap amongst young people in Namibia and to empower them through practical vocational training, entrepreneurial skills, gender equality and civic education – enabling them to lead self-determined and socially engaged lives.
